Caregivers Benevolent Fund ®
At Find a Caregiver, we know self-employed carers face unique challenges — including the risk of minor injuries that can leave you temporarily unable to work and without an income. That's why we operate the Caregivers Benevolent Fund ®, a discretionary support fund designed to help registered carers on our platform during difficult times.
What We Offer
If you are a self-employed carer registered on our platform and you suffer a minor work-related injury that prevents you from working, you may be eligible to apply for short-term financial support from the Caregivers Benevolent Fund ®.
Eligible injuries include, but are not limited to:
- Broken bones from slips, trips, or falls
- Cuts or lacerations
- Falls from a height
- Traffic accidents while working
What's Not Covered
The following are not covered by the fund:
- Injuries that occur outside of your working duties
- Pre-existing medical conditions (including those aggravated during work)
- Injuries resulting from gross negligence or reckless behaviour
- Mental health conditions or stress-related illness
- Chronic or long-term conditions not directly caused by a single work incident
- Cosmetic injuries or those not affecting your ability to work
- Injuries for which you are already receiving compensation (e.g. insurance payouts, legal settlements)
- Incidents not reported to us within the required timeframe

Your Safety Comes First
We encourage all carers to take health and safety seriously at every placement. While we cannot eliminate all risk, we can provide a safety net when things go wrong. If you have any concerns about your working environment or conditions, please speak to us before an incident occurs — we are here to help.
Friendly Reminder / Disclaimer
The Caregivers Benevolent Fund ® is a discretionary fund operated by Find a Caregiver. It is not an insurance product, and there is no contractual entitlement to any payment. All applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of Find a Caregiver. Approval of one application does not set a precedent for future claims.
